Superman – Metropolis Licence Plate Display

An original license plate used in the production of the 1978 superhero classic Superman starring Christopher Reeve in the title role. This license plate was custom made by the production and used on one of the vehicles in Superman’s home city of Metropolis. Constructed from hardboard which has been hand painted green with the identification number ‘8728’ and ‘METROPOLIS’ underneath in white shadowed text, the plate also features a border which is again fully hand painted. The plate itself measures 12″ x 6″ (30.4cm x 15.2cm) and remains in excellent production condition and is mounted on a custom display.
