“I had never watched this film in its entirety prior to be commissioned to do this poster. It was a little out of my element as Supermans gotta be my least favorite superhero as well as an overly bright and quirky kind of superhero. My tastes lend themselves a bit more to dark, brooding, angry and violent superheroes with some exceptions.
Upon watching the film through though, I saw it as a really fun challenge and I really liked it. I love Margot Kidder (a la Black Christmas) – and let’s face it – Christopher Reeve IS Superman and will always be so why not take a shot at a classic? I really wanted to give the poster that sort of retro post modern vibe, similar to what you’d see on a 1930’s World’s Fair poster.”
